3 Common Patterns in Successful People
Jun 09, 2024We all desire success, but only 2% of people become successful.
If you're anything like me, I always wondered "How?"
Well, I think I found the answer.
After being around successful people, and seeing what they're really like, and what they do.
I realised it's not hard, and I won't overcomplicate it to make myself sound smarter.
It can be broken down into 3 Common Patterns.
- Focus
- Clarity
- Systems
It's honestly that simple.
I could end the newsletter here, but let me expand on each point so you can go away and implement it into your life immediately.
Focus is a muscle.
This is because focusing on meaningful things is draining.
But the more you do it, the stronger your focus will become.
Anything you do requires focus, but the challenging part is the ability to control your focus on meaningful things.
In the world we live in, everything is out for our attention.
Social media platforms, p***, family, friends, phone calls, business, music, podcasts, even this newsletter.
But your ability to focus on tasks that matter will define how your future looks.
Example:
Person 1 focuses on scrolling TikTok, focusing on celebrity drama, and partying.
Person 2 focuses on building a personal brand and focuses on learning a high-income skill.
Which one do you think will see more success?
A lot of the time what we are doing it's become a subconscious program, so we don't realise we are giving attention and focus to the wrong things.
Clarity is like having accuracy.
A good friend and mentor of mine taught me this.
Imagine you go to an Italian restaurant and you see something on the menu you don't want.
Now the waiter comes over to you and asks "What would you like to order" in Italian
And assuming you have no clue what he said...
The last thing you want to do is focus on the thing you don't want and start pointing at it.
The waiter is going to assume you want it!
And it's the same with our lives. I was guilty of this too.
I didn't know with clarity what I wanted because I was fixated on what I didn't want.
And guess what... with this lack of clarity and lack of focus. I never got what I wanted.
And how could I?
I didn't know what I wanted myself!
Last but not least.
Systems.
A system is a set of principles that lead to a result.
And every successful person has this.
Don't underestimate how many they have as well.
They have a system for when they wake up.
They have a system for when they get tired
They have a system for when a client complains about something
They have a system for when you click on their newsletters
They have a system for when they need to learn.
They have a system for their health.
They have a system to maintain their wealth.
They have a system to maintain a healthy loving relationship with their partner.
I could go on.
The best example of this is 75 Hard.
It's a physical, and discipline challenge.
If you haven't heard of it. Google it.
The challenge sets you like 6/7 tasks you must do every single day.
People realised at the end of this challenge they had become a lot more fit, their bodies looked better, and they were probably a lot more happy.
Now you can create tasks that lead to a goal or outcome that you want.
It's going to allow you to focus on the inputs. Which is what's important.
I hope you found this valuable.
