My Creator's Journal 001
Aug 04, 2024My Creator's Journal 001
This week has been insane.
I'm more of a traditional creator at heart.
I love working with (certain) brands.
Because I love their product, or I wasn't able to afford their product when I was younger, and now they send me stuff for free, loaned or pay me to have the item.
Absolutely insane.
Nowadays people create content to sell their product or service, and there's nothing wrong with that.
It's amazing.
A few years ago creators didn't know they had that sort of power to sell their own digital products.
Anyway, this week the brands I've been on contact with
Tesla: I know you're thinking wtf? how?
You only have 12k followers, you ain't MKBHD or Shevon Salmon
This link actually came through network, so I'm not directly talking to Tesla themselves.
This deal isn't going to be paid.
It's going to a loan of a car for 24 hours.
I'm personally trying to extend because 24 hours is low. (in my opinion)
Shure: I sent Shure a DM a while back, and filled out a form.
They emailed me out of nowhere after hearing nothing for ages.
They made me sign a NDA so I can't say much.
Again this deal isn't paid but I'm getting multiple microphones, and I requested an additional microphone.
Once again I love Shure, and they're a popular brand.
I'm excited for this one.
Soundpeats: I've personally never heard of them until they in my inbox
They're a tech company.
They create headphones, and earphones etc.
I wouldn't normally take this deal, but I just wanted to give them to my mom, so I thought fuck it.
VEED.IO: They're a brand I reached out to a while back
I used to use this software when I just started my journey back in 2021/22
It made some aspects really easy, and now AI is in the picture, VEED stayed up to date with it.
I've done 2 deals with them so far, and have collected £2000 in total.
I've done a few other deals prior to this series, but nowadays I'm really selective.
I don't want to work with anyone and everyone.
But I'm excited to see what other brands I can work with in the future.
My Revenue (July)
My revenue for July approx £9000.
Which is the most I've made in month to this date.
Which is really exciting.
A quick breakdown (because this wasn't strictly content creation)
£1000 - Reselling Taylor Swift Tickets(2)
£1000 - VEED (paid)
£1000 - VEED (not paid yet)
£3700 - Video editing / videography client & for his student.
approx £2500 - Video editing client
£175 - video editing client (one off project)
£20 - preset pack.
I could count this a $10k month if converted lol.
One of client wanted extra video last month and bought me down to record some videos, plus recording ads for his students.
And I wasn't really doing the months until it was invoice time and it really stacked up.
One thing I want to add to my revenue is digital products - this is so I can separate my time from income.
So I created a whole new digital product.
It's a blueprint that I use to be able to consistently put out good content.
It's has my notion template, my preset pack plus a course on how to go from nothing to a finished video.
If you're reading this it's currently on presale.
On August 19th, it's going to double in price.
(you'll also get access on August 19th so secure your spot now)
Or coaching - This is where I help creators or coaches improve their content game so they can build their personal brand.
I haven't spoke about this publicly, but nor have I created a landing page.
But I'm happy to hop a call with anyone who wants more details and is interested.
My Head Space
Even though all of this sounds pretty good, and I'm happy as I was writing it.
This week still has it's ups and downs.
There's points where I'm thinking why doesn't anyone want to buy my preset pack?
Why is my videos getting average views (I thought it was a banging video)
But overall it was a good week.
My followers have been growing, finally hit 12k followers on the gram.
TikTok growth has been steady nothing crazy, currently on 10.7k
And YouTube grew a few subscribers.
I'm coming up with a routine which is going to allow me to post 2x videos a week on YouTube.
ideally 1x tech and 1x content related.
YouTube is where the real money is made.
Ad Revenue, bigger brand budgets, and stronger audience connection.
I won't be leaving short form content though.
Client Results:
In terms of client results, this week Nero Knowledge has gained roughly 40k subscribers on YouTube
and probably a few thousands on Instagram.
Currently working on getting his clips page up and running so we can drive more traffic to YouTube.
Jazz Rose's YouTube growth has been very subtle.
He has been recording videos but the quality is lacking, and something is always disrupting the recording.
I'm going to offer my videography services to him so we can get higher quality videos.
I've been editing one off brand deals for a friend of mine (paid of course), his channel is crazy.
check 'TabooRoom' on YouTube.
But that's my journal for week.
It might be the longest one for now because I felt like I had to catch up on the previous month so things make sense.
Hope you enjoyed.
